Janine Horber is a second generation Romanian-American, amateur rally photographer, former teacher-extraordinaire, and writer who’s recent works are featured in the Paterson Literary Review, Edible Jersey, and Past Ten. Elements of the natural world are found in her photography, whereas her poems and essays explore the depth of daily life through the use of vivid imagery and a probing focus on individual moments.
Janine graduated from Vermont College of Fine Arts with an M.F.A. in Writing (dual-genre, Poetry/CNF) in January 2021. She is currently working to publish her first full length book of poetry about growing up with her immigrant grandmother, known as Oma, set against the backdrop of New Jersey.
Janine enjoys living in Northwest New Jersey, specifically for the changing seasons and proximity to the beach. You can catch her at local coffee shops like King’s Gambit, on a hiking trail, or at car meets in and around the Lehigh Valley area.
